Renowned entertainer RUBEN CELIBERTI brings to life the music of Buenos Aires in an eclectic and thrilling series of recitals entitled "Carlos Gardel - The King of Tango".

   The programs celebrate the music of Carlos Gardel who created miniature masterpieces among the hundreds of three-minute tangos he wrote and recorded until his death in a 1935 airplane crash at the height of his career.
     
   "Carlos Gardel - The King of Tango" also showcases the amazing talent of Italian-Argentinean singer, dancer, actor RUBEN CELIBERTI, who uses his voice, his body, and his dance to highlight and embody a multicolored spectrum of emotions – eroticism, solitude, passion, and rebirth – sensations only music like the tango can evoke.

   RUBEN CELIBERTI has performed with the leading stars of theater, ballet, and television in Europe and Latin America.  He has been hailed by the press as “brilliant”, “pure genius”, and “charismatic”, and won the 1996 South American Critics Award as Performer of the Year.

   Trained at the Conservatory of the Colon Theater in Buenos Aires, his dynamism and charm quickly led to collaboration with the biggest names in Argentina, France, and Italy: Roland Petit, Zizi Jeanmaire, Lindsay Kemp, Giuseppe Patroni Griffi, Carla Fracci, Lina Sastri, and Ute Lemper.
